The University of Limerick is on a modern campus located 5km outside Limerick City overlooking the river Shannon. There are superb facilities for our conference with large modermn lecture halls and tutorial rooms.

The accommodation is on-campus and is reached on foot by crossing the ‘Living Bridge’ over the Shannon.

There is also a fantastic Sports arena with a state of the art gym and 50-metre swimming pool. It is often used for pre-season training by the Irish rugby team as well as many well known English Premiership soccer teams.

Climate

Ireland has a temperate climate, resulting in relatively cool summers.
The mean daily temperature in May/June is 15°C - 20°C.
It is generally quite dry but you may experience some rain, so come prepared!

Insurance

The Course Organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries or for loss of, or damage to, property belonging to congress participants (or their accompanying persons), either during or as a result of the course. Please check the validity of your own insurance.

Banking

There is one bank located on campus (Ulster Bank).
Banking hours are from 10.00 - 16.00 every day.
ATM machines are located in the student centre on campus.
Generally, banking hours in Limerick City are 10.00 -16.00.

Accommodation

Cappavilla Student Village, University of limerick. Delegates and Faculty will be staying in apartments wirth 4 to 6 single rooms. Each apartment has a kitchen dining area and all rooms have en-suite bathrooms . The village is reached by walking for 700 metres across the river Shannon.

By airplane

Shannon International Airport is located 31km from The University of Limerick.
Some cities in the US and UK operate regular services.

By Taxi

The taxi fare from Limerick City Centre to University of Limerick is approximately €10.00.
The taxi fare from Shannon Airport to University of Limerick is approximately €40.00.

By Bus

From Limerick City Centre to University of Limerick. 5km 20 minutes
From the bus stop near the Centra shop in William Street take the bus for the University of Limerick or Plassey (usually a no.308 or no.302 bus).
The bus fare is € 1.60 one-way.

From Shannon Airport to Limerick City Centre. 24km 40 minutes
The bus fare is €6.80 one-way and €11.30 return. There is a reduction offered to students.

From Dublin to Limerick. 24km 3 hours

There are commercial coaches going directly from Dublin Airport to University of Limerick. The journey time is approximately 3 hours and there are 8 buses each day.

We will be arranging for coaches to collect delegates at Dublin Airport twice in Monday at 14.00 and 18.00. There will be two coaches leaving the University of Limerick on Saturday morning to Dublin Airport.

By train

There are regular train connections between Dublin CIty and Limerick City.The airports are not serviced by train.
